New to the posting game. Thought I would start with my 4" 28-2 ser#N87xxx. I picked up 10-12 years ago. Has polished nickle plating somewhere along the line. Story has it belonging to a state trooper years ago. Well used, but still a good looker and great shooter.

line, Welcome to the Forum! You started out posting a fine looking 28! I have 1 myself, but it is a plain jane 6 inch no dash. (1960) Haven't had it long, but is very clean, and shoots better than I do. Enjoy your 28. Bob

That 28 looks great in nickel! Who did the plating for you as it looks fantastic with the football grips and their light color? Want a 28 but have a 3.5" 27 that shoots like a dream. Same revolver for all intents and makes shooting magnums a breeze. .38's feel like a .22 through them. Have owned many of them and they are/were all accurate except for a 2.5" pre lock 686, including my snubbies.
Congrats and good job on that fine looking revolver and hope you hang onto it.

I've seen some nickel jobs on the M28-2 that looked horrible, yours looks great. Good choice on the stocks, they look great. I am with chud333, hard to beat a M28-2, great shooters.

Wish I could say who did the nickle plating but what you see is how it looked when I received it 10-12 years ago.
It has had some hard shooting 'cause some of the plating has chipped on the front of the cylinder from blast effect, but it still locks up tight.
The grips have some minor chips. I am sure it was a workhorse for someone.
Gun is a great shooter--much better than me! I can freehand coffee cup groups at 45-50 yards which is great for me. Better shooters could do much better.

Welcome to the forum. That is a beautiful 28. I finally got mine home recently, and don't plan on letting it go any time in the foreseeable future. Great guns and a very popular subject around here.
