First Shots

First shots with the SIG 716I Tread.
60 rounds of 150gr Aguila .308 Winchester ammo at a 100 yards.
Started on the right side target to get the scope elevation and windage adjustments dialed in then moved to the clown.
The groups were getting tighter but I was still tinkering with the scope elevation adjustment.
The top group on the left target was pretty good and one last tweak to the scope resulted in the bottom left group and the two holes between the clown's eyes.
Between the buffer mechanism and my Marine Corps shooting jacket the felt recoil was more comfortable than with my 45-70 Highwall and 30-06 1903A3 rifles.
Need more range time to get use to the trigger and I may move the scope a bit further forward on the picatinny rail but not bad.
I have everything but dies to start making my own loads so I'll get a set of those coming this week.

Ive got an Armalite AR10 TAC16
Got her sighted in at 50 yards but, will probably do 100 yards today
Im gonna run 175gr fgmm to see what she'll do

Breaking News! I swapped the SIG Tread rifle for a Springfield Armory match grade M1A rifle also chambered in 7.62X51 - .308 Winchester.
I was looking for a Springfield M1A when I ran across the SIG which was nice but I'm more into traditional looking rifles and wood stocks so I listed the SIG on Armslist yesterday saying that I wanted to trade it for Springfield M1A and a local guy responded.
He had been looking for a SIG Tread but had gotten the Springfield when he couldn't find one so as soon as he saw my ad he answered and we met this morning and did the deal.
We had both put about the same amount of rounds through the rifles dialing them in so they're both still like brand new.
The winds are howling at the moment but when they die down I'm going to take out to the range and see how it does.

Here's a 4 shot group ( I always do 5 but, mis counted my ammo
100 yards 175gr fgmm
Very happy with this Armalite
Had I not threw that 4th shot it would've been under half moa ( i think i wound up .8 moa though)

Since this one has a match barrel and trigger it should be even more fun.
It only came with one 10 round magazine but I have another 10 round and two 20 rounds mags coming from Fast Ammo for it.
A company named Sadlak makes the tools I'll need to clean the gas piston and plug so I'll get a set of those coming.

I've got two M1A rifles, a National Match and a Standard. Mine both shoot about the same size groups at 100 yards, about 1.5" for 5 shots with nothing special ammo, just GI Ball. I also carried one the entire time I was in the Marine Corps in the 60's, so shooting one is like hanging out with an old girlfriend you regret letting get away.......

Yeah man, this Armalite is a shooter
Didn't clean or anything- just went out again today - took 10 rounds with me and got this 5 round group (the first 5 rounds were warm ups)
5 rounds 175gr fgmm 100 yards
.6 moa

I have never met a M-14 or Springfield M1A that I didn't like. Great rifles. I am envious, enjoy.
