That is a spectacular "Model of 1953 New I frame .22/32 Kit Gun" if not stamped Mod. 34 in the yoke with cyl swung open, with the box and proper SAT for sight adj. Any paperwork in the box?

You got the ~ vintage right at 1958. With a serial # or partial # we could likely dial the date in a little closer.

It was replaced with a J frame when it was discontinued Oct 1960 and became the Mod 34-1.

I cannot recall seeing neither a nicer example of 2" Kit gun from that era nor a nicer box from that era. Beautiful would be an understatement.

Welcome to the Forum, you have a wonderful example of the .22 kit gun, in the somewhat scarce 2" barrel. If it was mine, I would be tempted to not shot it, which would be a shame, as they are great fun shooters. If you do shoot it and have any problems with shells extracting from the chambers, it is common. These guns seem to prefer standard velocity ammo. Polishing the chambers with a bronze brush wrapped in bronze wool (0000) has helped quite a few. Many have had the chambers reamed with a Manson SAAMI standard finishing reamer which usually cures the problem.

Thanks much everyone for the imput and likes I normally post in the 61 to 80 forum but I found this little guy in Montreal and had to have it,and for $450 was even better. Oh and it is stamped 34 but the box has on it 22/32,the box is correct to the gun. The sn# 37179.Thanks again

You have an incredibly nice example of one of my favorite revolvers. I "liked" it earlier but I have to tell you that you bought it for a ridiculously low price. Good for you!

Thanks also for the serial number and indicating that it is model marked. I believe that serial range is very close to when model numbered examples start showing up. I show several, including one that I own, with serial numbers slightly lower that have no model marking on them. Mine shipped in January, 1958.

As for the box not having Model 34 marked on it, I find that to be unsurprising. The early model-marked guns shipping in non-model-marked boxes is not unusual.
