Got a short amount of time today to get to the range and try out my new Shield 9. Very impressed and pleased!

I did have a couple of issues early on with the slide not locking back after the last round. However, this only happened twice and early in my shooting.

There was on FTF but I blame that on the cheapo ammo I was using.

There were no issues when using Ranger T's.

I was most impressed with the control ability and lack of perceived recoil. This is the smoothest shooting 9mm I have ever shot.

I did start out shooting a bit low left.:( However, I believe that to be a shooter issue and not a gun issue.:o Things got better as I got more familiar with the Shield. Also, when I got home I setup my Lazersyte system and the Shield was right on. Definitely a shooter issue. :D

I'm looking forward to getting out to the range again when I can spend a lot more time with the Shield.

I am ready to proclaim it a keeper. It more than meets my expectations! :)

I took my new Shield 40 to the range today and had no hiccups other than shooting way left. I had nice groups at 35' but I couldn't bring them center unless I was aiming at the right edge of the target. Think Ill try it one more time before oing the front sight adjustment. Love the gun though.

Recommend you have a look at this SimplyAboutGuns.com | Range testing a handgun, especially the "gun too small" section, before tinkering with the sights. A slight change in your grip or finger placement on the trigger may help. Be safe, shoot straight!

Thanks. Good info. I had an lc9 and i was able shoot that somewhat accurately (minus mag drop). I'll focus more on my grip and trigger pull and see if I can correct things.

I've had mine about 4 months and it's a joy to carry. Did have some FTF early, but nothing after 150 rounds.

I went back to the range today and was able to improve accuracy some. I shot way better with 180 gr than I did with 165 gr and I noticed I really need to pay attention to finger placement on the trigger. Attached pic is about 10 yds with the 180 gr.

Just got my shield out today for the first time today ran beautifully with the apex carry trigger upgrade. I was very surprised on how smooth the trigger is with the apex kit on it and how controllable the recoil is

My 9mm Shield won me over quickly. First time out, I experienced how it is unforgiving of shooter errors like any little gun. Shots were low left due to trigger jerking and recoil anticipation. Now that I am familiar with it and stock trigger is broken in, I'd have to say it is unbelievably pleasant to handle and easy to shoot accurately. I can't imagine a better, very easy to conceal, 9 mm polymer gun. Various 115 gr FMJ, some 115 HP, and 124 HP +p all functioned fine. Never a gun failure (only mine), in almost 1 year now. My hat is off though to anyone that can shoot a 40 S & W Shield well and consistently, more power to you. Literally! Wow!

Dig my Shield, as well. I had problems with the slide not racking after the last round was fired...but it was user error not gun error. I have big hands and my fingers...specifically my thumb of my right hand...was riding the slide release thus preventing the slide to lock. I adjusted my grip and...BAM...problem solved. Check your grip/thumb and happy shooting!

Put another 200 rounds through my 9mm Shield Saturday. The gun really is impressive. Zero issues, SUPER ACCURATE. At 7 yards I put one full magazine with every hole touching. That was my best group. You have to take your time to shoot accurate, if you do the results are outstanding.
