Finally made it out to the range today! After a brutal winter and working too many hours at work I made it out on a cool 50 degree day.

I have been buying .22 when I could find it during the crunch and was not sure everything I had purchased would cycle my 15-22 reliably and wanted to try some different brands.

I also took my HK416-22 out for it's first shots since purchase. I know, I know, I have read about the 416 since my purchase. I did not do a lot of research on that before buying. I was very disappointed to see the bolt release did not work and the BCG could not even be removed for cleaning.

I brought with me some Aguila super extra (yellow box if it matters)
CCI Blazers (gray box)
CCI mini-mags
Federal Champion 36gr HP in a 525 count box
Norma Tac-22
Remington 36gr HP in 525 golden bullet value pack
Winchester M-22
I forgot to bring my Federal American Eagle that I just bought and I think there was something else in my stash that was missing. I have seen others on here post that they have not had problems getting the AE to cycle in the 15-22. That was my big worry. Especially with the Norma Tac-22.

I was very happy to have zero malfunctions with any of the ammo in either rifle! I am not able to own a suppressor here in MN and purchased the Norma Tac-22 not realizing it was sub sonic and was not sure it would cycle unsuppressed.

Accuracy wise I would have to say my rifle liked the Norma and the Aguila best. Again, this was my first time out in over 6 months and I am rusty. I fired the 15-22 first and was getting "sloppy" 10 shot groups. (2 inch@50 yards) :o Maybe a bit bigger. My 416 groups were much tighter, I had a group with the Norma that was 3/4 inch or so? After I finished off testing the ammo in the 416 I unpacked the 15-22 again and loaded up a magazine of the Norma and tried again in case I was "loosening up" as I shot more. My group was better, but not as good as the 416 was. I see more testing is needed! :D

Anyway, I was just happy to get out, shoot a bit and have some fun with the girlfriend at the range. I learned I need to shoot more, and worry about what ammo I buy less. It seems even subsonic rounds will cycle in my rifles un-suppressed.

I have some that Colt branded .22 on the way from somewhere right now. Will have to try that when it comes in also.

It sounds like you had a near perfect day! The 15-22 seems to shoot almost anything really well with few problems.

More testing... yeah, that's it! All in the name of research. :D
