Today I was able to get the 9mm shield to the range. 100 flawless WWB 115grain and Winchester Ranger 147 grain. Very easy shooter for a sub compact. I think my Glock 27 might see a lot of the safe from now on.

Here is my target with 16 rounds of the Winchester at 10 yards. That's not a bad target for me. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1425766225.309301.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1425766225.309301.jpg

Wow!! You must have gotten one of the very few that Doesn't shoot Left (or Low/Left). How did THAT happen?!?! ;)
Congrats! :D

Not wanting to high-Jack the thread, but could you or someone comment more on this. I have noticed that mine does shoot left and I let my son-in-law shoot it today and he said the same thing and he's a much better shooter than me.

Before considering moving the Front Sight, Dry Fire a LOT and watch what your muzzle does when the trigger breaks. 10 Cents says it's twisting left.

If you're used to larger pistols (or double-stack Subs), the Trigger-to-Backstrap distance will be different. Combine this with everyone's hands/fingers being different sizes, there's a LOT of variables in play.

This article explains it pretty well: 10 Commandments For Improved Shooting

Boils down to Finger Placement, trigger Pull and Finger tension ('Commandments' 2, 3 & 4) are key.

You need to find which combination of Finger Placement (Center Pad vs 1st Crease, vs someplace else), Finger Pull (not slapping or jerking the trigger) and Finger Tension (not squeezing ALL your fingers when you squeeze your trigger finger) allow you to press the trigger Straight Rearward... As opposed to slightly twisting the Shield slightly left.

Some here need to move from 1st Crease to Center Pad to achieve a straight rearward Pull/Press. For others and myself, we needed to move from Center Pad to 1st crease. You (and your SIL) need t find which placement works for you.

I just picked up a Shield 9 mm last week myself. It shot nice and straight for me. I had very similar group size at ten yards right out of the box and it being new to me.

On the left impact issue. About 25 years ago I had handgun training in the service with the M9 Beretta. I shot left with the M9 but it was my grip and trigger pull, thanks to the instructor that pointed it out I haven't pulled to the left since.

print up a couple of these & tape them to your target next time to the range.

You are wasting most of your target putting all those shots in the middle :)
