I pay $200 per year at our local indoor range for unlimited shooting. 15 pistol lanes, and they are putting the finishing touches on a new 6 lane 100 meter underground rifle range that will be the only 100 meter indoor range within 700 miles of Fargo ND. No gun rental or sales at this point, our range is about 5 years old and a very nice facility.

What is the difference between a club and a range?

In my area, ranges are very limited, clubs are abundant. I know of only a handful of indoor rental ranges. You can rent guns (sometimes only handguns), ammo, targets and range time. The first time I ever saw a stand alone outdoor range was when I went to Alaska.

Clubs have ranges, but also have activities. Some of those would be trap and skeet, a competitive pistol and rifle team, family field day, etc.

A Club is an organization where a range is a place.

Most clubs that have ranges are private and you must be a member, or guest of a member, to shoot there.

Most indoor ranges are in the urban or suburban community therefore you cannot shoot outdoors. We have 3 within 10 miles. It's illegal to discharge a gun in city limits. All of the Club/Ranges I been to are indoors and in the city limits. All allow people to join or shoot at will per hour at a cost, gun sales and gun rental: pistol, shotgun, AR, full auto, .50 cal etc. They have classes etc if you want to be involved.

The difference I think you are making is one allows indoor shooting and one allows more. I have been a member of one outdoor club. Skeet, long range rifle range, 100, 150, 200 up to 600 yards for matches, Pistol range etc. The difference is it's not nearby and you have to leave the city to shoot there.

I understand what a Club is but the way you used the phrase was confusing to me.
