1917 RP, 3 1/4" barrel, no patent date on grip panel, brass S&W grip medallions, no S&W trademark stamped on either side of the frame. Belonged to the Sheriff who hired me (1986) might have belonged to his father who served as Sheriff in the 1940s. Just sent for a historical letter.
