Everyone,

I have an as new (no box though) 19-8 round butt about to come out of layaway. It is absolutely perfect, mechanically and cosmetically EXCEPT I can't stomach the factory rubber grips (made by Uncle Mikes I think?).

I found a very nice pair of Sandbar Stag grips at a price I can live with that I think will look great on the gun and give it some class.

I think I would like to add a Tyler T grip to this last 19 to make it more comfortable and to give it a retro look.

My question then is, will the Stag grips need to be relieved for the Tyler T for proper fit? Sorry if this is dumb question, but while I've long admired the looks of guns with Tylers, I have never owned one.

Thanks for any input.

The Tyler grip slides onto the frame, hold in place and the grips go right over the top. Original instructions with the Tyler grip says DO NOT BEND the little arms once on the gun, the grips will hold it in place.

Shouldn't need much adjustment.

Thanks everyone for the knowledge.

Iggy, that is GORGEOUS, just the look I'm going for, except blued.

As long as the Stag Grips were made to original Factory Spec's, then like the others have said no relief is needed.

Alk8944,

Lol, ya I meant Sambar Stag. Damn autocorrect.

Thanks everyone for the info.

Used a BK grip on this pre # air weight. Kip makes several colors and is a hoot to deal with. Yea plastic but afordable!

Be careful not to over tighten the grip screw b/c that can cause some grips to crack. Tighten down enough to take the wiggle out of the TGrip.
