I have seen everything from model paint to glow in the dark smear, The only thing i see work is corrected lenses for the shooter. I love fixed sights revolvers, I leave them alone.
If it is a problem cylinder and slide shop have a fixed sight system that works very well, it's even available in night sights. It is attached to a fixed sight revolver by a gunsmith or at C&S shop. The new S&W night guard series uses them.

Fix sight solved
Well, i have an old beat up 2nd model HE 44 spl., fix sight model. i put in a set of adjustable S&W sights with my little mill/drill machine. my problem was how to cut the little rear slot for the little elevation sight adjust nut. i made up a cutter out of a 1/4 end mill. i chucked it in a lathe and used wire ties to hold down a dremel motor to the tool post. i then used a abrasive wheel cutter and ground the end mill down for clearance and ended up with a .060 thick slot cutter. worked well. then i cut the front blade down and end mill slotted the base for a partridge front. is now much more easy to see then the thin half moon blade, and the small V shaped rear was. now some touch ups and get a refinish and will be a good shooter. I carefully painted the front and rear sights on my 3" 65-3 with black automotive engine paint. It worked great. But I find stainless sights very hard to see, especially outdoors.
A few people have widened the rear notch a bit, much like the newer aftermarket sights.

FWIW: Widening the rear notch makes a huge difference. If outdoors, darken the front blade & rear notch area with a butane lighter or candle to see whether giving them a dark matte texture will help. I agree, S/S with the sun causing dazzle on it is tough as a $2.00 steak!
