Fixing our Lawn Mower (I Hope)

Oh it will hopd alright. It is fun doing stuff like that. SOmething else that would work is using 5200 instead of mechanical fasteners. Put a bead of 5200 around the edges and then clamp it with a couple of vice grips. Let it cure, then drill the hole for the axel. Easy peasy. I have mounted sights on shotgun barrells using black 5200 and they are still on there.
I looked it up, looks like good stuff, may just get me a tube to keep handy.
 
Haven't used the mower yet but just rolling it on my garage floor, I could see the shaft for the rear axle spinning. I don't want it to do that.
Now if I had a welder I'd just tack it in place and that'd do it.
Since I don't, I'm using JB Weld to basically glue the shaft in place.
We'll find out if it holds.
