I have a flag on the front of my house, and one on my shed in the back yard.

Been thinking about putting up a 25' pole in the back yard. Never had one, and can't figure out how they keep from wrapping around the pole.

Been looking at these two. I'd really like to get the non commercial grade one, but I don't want one that's not gonna work.

How do they keep from wrapping around the pole?

Flag staffs are made that claim to be "wrap-proof" but they are fairly complicated and more costly. Mostly they rely on a top-mounted gimbal that rotates relative to wind direction much like a weather vane and some sort of weight on the bottom of the flag to maintain furl with no lanyard attachment on the bottom. The ones I'm familiar with are similar to the one at our post office and it has an internal system for raising and lowering the flag with a gimbal at the top.

I have maintained flag poles, staffs, for many years now in my yard(s) and it's been my experience flags getting wrapped around the staff is not a big problem (and I'm in a very windy location). Every time it wraps around the staff it generally unwraps itself just as easily. My current staff can be rotated in its ground mount hole and when it gets to where I can't look at it I can rotate the whole staff and unfurl Old Glory (or whatever flag I happen to be flying).

I have a telescoping pole on a lakeshore that sees plenty of wind. The flag attaches to two round collars that can spin on the pole - and it still wraps. It will unwrap but sometimes takes time.

The company is Uncommon USA

I bought a twenty-foot fiberglass mast in 2021. I wanted steel,
but the cost and shipping was prohibitive. I started out skeptical
due to the wind ratings: 70 mph without a flag; 40 mph with one.

It's been fine. We've had 60+ when the flag was flying and more
than 110 when it wasn't.

The two-piece mast slid into another fiberglass sleeve I had set
in concrete, four feet deep (the mast is twenty feet above
ground). I shimmed the mast inside the sleeve. Works fine.

I've seen the flag wrapped around the pole a very few times.
It's not a concern.
