On someone's last nerve..
Washington's CPL isn't honored in very many states anymore, and a while back Utah's was the go-to for cross-county carry. I checked recently and it looked like FL gets the most now, may be wrong, but it looks that way.

The process is relatively simple. Fill out the online application, mail the fingerprint card, and wait. Utah required some specific training, while FL would accept my DD214 as proof of training.

They require a photo, so had the wife snap a shot with my cell phone against the white garage door. That gets uploaded online.

I went to my local Sheriff's Dept and paid $5 for them to electronically fingerprint me, and that electronic prints out on a standard FBI fingerprint card. I mailed that in with a check.

My FL CWP arrived in the mail today.

STATS:

63 calendar days, or 44 business days since I filled out the online form.
56 calendar days, or 39 business days since mailing the fingerprint card. This is a better number because I filled out the online form then waited a week or so before getting the fingerprint card in the mail.

So that's how long it takes, and got me 32 states for carry.

I got my Florida permit before my home state Ohio had permits. Now I keep both.

Hmm... It's nice to know that the Florida CWP was easier, quicker, and (apparently) cheaper to get for someone outside my state than for me!

I guess there's a reason why we are known as Flori-DUH!

Be aware that a CCW permit issued by a state to a non resident of that state is not honored in many states.

For example, Colorado doesn’t honor Florida permits issued to non Florida residents.
That is correct. Many states that honor Florida do not do so for non residents.

FYI: It's a CWFL--Concealed Weapons and Firearm License. And it's no good in WA.
