North Carolina Police Requirements state that the applicant must be 20-years-old for a police officer, 21-years-old for the highway patrol, and 21-years-old to be a sheriff's deputy.
Police department age requirements apparently vary from city to city.
In Charlotte, applicants must be 21. Raleigh requires applicants to be 21. Wilmington accepts applications if the applicant is 20.
Just as an aside, in Wilmington, the Physical Abilities Test is outlined below and must be completed in
7 minutes 20 seconds or less to continue in the hiring process. Applicants will be given one attempt to pass the test.
