Just wondering how people feel about the Flu Shot? I've been getting mine for about the last 10 years. And glad I do! If it even lessens my chance for getting it or even helps give me an milder case, I'm all for it.

I hear people every year say, they'll never get one because you'll get sick. I call Hog Wash, I've never felt bad after getting it! I'll turn 60 in December and have enough medical issues, as it is and the Flu shouldn't be one one of them!!

I got mine last week, and my wife and Grandson have already had theirs. Our insurance covers ours. But if it didn't, I wouldn't let $40 stand in my way. And we were at Wally World Saturday and they even give it!

In this day and time, there is NO reason to get sick and miss a weeks work (maybe more) over the fear of a simple shot. Just my humble opinion!

I turned 61 on sept 30 ( didnt get many presents), I been taking the flu shots for last 5 years counting this year,I am a firm believer as there is a lot of "nasty" stuff floating around. So far never got sick that I can tell. regards Ernie

About 20 years ago, I got sicker than I could believe right after a flu shot. I have always thought it was directly linked, but I can't be sure. I still get one every year, in part because of my underlying health conditions - my doctors ride me like a rented mule about it. I was pretty tired this year for a few days after the shot, but again, I can't prove the link I suspect.

Big fan of the flu shot, especially because of where I work. The humanity that we get walking through our doors is, shall we say, interesting.

Just wondering how people feel about the Flu Shot?

My last flu shot was three years ago. After being reassured by the nurse that it was a "new type" of vaccine that was "guaranteed not to make you sick", I took the thing. By that same evening, I was sick as a dog and stayed that way for four days.

That was it for me, I think. Haven't had the flu since, not even a cold.

I did, however, get the pneumonia vaccine and the shot for shingles.

Being a hideously old fart now, my doctor insists on me getting a flu shot every year and same for a pneumonia shot. Since I like and trust this particular doctor, I do as he says. :)

Yes, I am soft & sensitive kind of guy... ;) ... so my arm hurts for a couple days afterwards... big deal. I take a pain pill at night so it won't bother me. Other than that no ill effects. :)

I haven't had a flu shot in years and I don't get the flu, at work I am in contact with the general public all day and every day.
I prefer not to be injected with poison.

Just as an aside, I get rabies and distemper shots for my cats every year and within a couple weeks they are sick and I have spend a few hundred in vet bills to make them well.

I am not a believer in vaccines.

Back in the late '60's the flu shot was a live virus (but weakened) vaccine, and a sizable percentage of people getting the shot also got sick. Since the vaccine changed to a DEAD virus, you cannot get sick from this immunization, although anything might trigger an allergic reaction in some people at some time. From a rational point of view it is foolish to forego this vaccine over fears of getting ill from the vaccine itself.

This may be the first year I miss the flu shot, Dr. won't give it to me yet, been down with a lung infection for three months.
Never got the flu when getting the shots

Yes I do for the past few years; but I did have my feelings hurt last year by my crotchety old pharmacist.

It was a cold day, and I had on a jacket, which I removed, and asked if I should remove my long-sleeved long john shirt for the shot.

The old *#%* said: "hell naw, you want to run all my customers out" ?

My girl-friend says I still look good bare-chested.........for 74 !

I've never had the flu and have never had the flu shot in my 62 years on this earth.
I'm just a little skeptical of getting something so heavily promoted and pushed. It just raises all my antenna. Follow the money.
The pay off is, look at the statistics at the end of the season when they miss the years particular strain again and admit it wasn't really effective.
Sorry, until they can do better I'm sitting it out.
