recently picked up a set of Cobra FMS/GRMS 22 channel radios. Back in the old days with CBs channel 9 was the "emergency" channel, is there any channel on these radios that is used in a similar fashion? Are there any other things to watch out for when using them?

I've never used one of those myself, so had to look it up..
I'm a ham, so have that system to use.

If you are using them in an emergency, remember that they are "line-of-sight" radios. If there are trees, hills, buildings, etc. between you and your intended receiver, they don't do too well. If you really need to reach someone, climb the tallest hill you can see, then climb the highest tree on that hill.
