I picked up these magazines not too long ago thinking they may fit a Colt .32 ACP. I really couldn't discern any markings and I had struck out at the gun counter. We've all been there when we are convinced we are going to find that steal of a deal. Then you don't find a gun to buy but you feel like you have to buy something. Well, I get home and notice they are FN 1922 magazines. One has the 7,65 stamp on the side and the WaA140 (I think) inspector mark on it. The other is the same size/look but no markings. Can I assume the other is maybe post war and should also fit a 1922?

I posted here because I consider this my home forum and don't like to go in strange neighborhoods.

I think you have correctly identified them
I just got a 1910 from Ebay

The better condition mag w/o markings might be an FN 1922 mag.

I don't know if all orig FN mags are usually marked either as you see it on the 32acp mag or 'FN/9mm' on the .380magazines.

They made so many and for contracts to many countrys there are bound to be different ones around. Contract magazines as well.

I do see some subtle difference in the shape of the unmarked magazine though.
Looking at the curved arch of the front edge of the side of the mag body at the top, it looks different than the FN marked magazine.

The length of the feed lips on the unmarked magazine look longer than that on the marked mag.
But in fairness, the marked magazine looks to have had some adjustments done w/pliers or other impliments. So that could have changed to look for sure.

Maybe just looking at one War time fabrication original,,with it's crude time expedient mfg showing.
The other perhaps an earlier FN mfg from the 20's or 30's when they manufactured even Military contract work to commercial finish specs.

Yes, it's pretty chewed up. I would like to believe their is a romantic war story that explains why it was adjusted and not done by the bubba guy who does a lot of the custom work I see on this board.

CJSmith, member "ronnie gore" once wrote about modifying Kahr .380 magazines to work in the 1903 or 1908 Colts. The mag catch notch has to be re-worked. I could not find his post, but you might give the Kahr mags a try.
