Long time lurker, first time poster. Just wanted to show my appreciation for the knowledge I’ve gained from reading the posts here. I’ve actually read each and every thread and gained lots of useful information. This forum has helped me decide what upgrades I’ll be making on my M&P 15 Sport. I’ve already upgraded to a MOE handguard and added a Nikon P-223 BDC 600 scope. I’ve also added a generic sling and a low price flashlight/laser, and bi-pod. I went cheap on the last two just to see if I would use them enough to consider a better quality purchase in the future.
I have put about 200 rounds down range with the MBUS (to 100 yards) and added the scope to shoot out pass 100. My 50 year old eyes aren’t able to successfully use the MBUS past 100 yards. I’ve been shooting from the prone position and plan on shooting from a table with bags the next time I go to fine tune the zero on the scope. I’ve shot around 500 rounds of 5.56 so far. I am lucky enough to have a spot of land down by the Ohio River where I can shoot. It’s actually a couple of hundred acres that are used as a hay field. No houses around for miles and no access by road, just a 4 wheeler trail going in. I couldn’t have asked for a better spot to shoot.
I do plan on making some more purchases/improvements to my Sport. Once my checkbook has recovered from Christmas I plan on purchasing a decent red-dot and a quality drop in trigger and buying lots and lots of 5.56!
I’m sharing a picture of my Sport (don’t we all do that?), along with my wife’s CC S&W 38 Special and my hand me down Mauser P08.
