Oracle, when you do start, go slow. Measure twice and cut once. Focus. No music or T.V. and I'd shut off my phone if you can. Very easy to make a costly mistake if you are distracted. I'm kinda ADD myself so I don't reload. Too many chances I'll be thinking about something else and double charge a case or something.
Good luck finding components. Handloading can save you money and allow you to have ammo when all the stores are out of it. But the real magic comes when you tune the ammo to the gun. I have seen minute of hillside guns become tack drivers with tailored ammo.

Congratulations great choice i like the redding powder scale and trickler also.I only load 38 special so the boss is all i need. It will load more accurate ammo than i can buy.

+1 on "No TV" in the loading area.

If someone calls, let them leave a message (that's what voice mail is for) You can call them back at the end of the tray!

I have loaded close to half a million rounds in the last 42 years, not one "Kabomb" not one squib! Just primers that didn't get seated all the way, and they go off on the second hammer strike! And a jerk gun store that sold primers that got wet, 10% duds!

I recommend instrumental music to cove noise from elsewhere, any style that you don't need to think about it.

That is a monster press, you can probably make a 38 Special fit in a 22 if you have the right dies!

Good choice. You won't regret it. I have two Redding powder drops and a Redding seating die. They make quality gear that will last a lifetime and then some.

Start shopping individually now for the bullets, powder and primers. Do your homework first, then buy. Some pistol bullet manufacturers or suppliers have stock available immediately; others are 3-4 months out. Powder availability comes and goes these days. Primers are a bit of a unicorn.
