Hey, the Crown Vic was a great car, I miss them. I like them so much I own two of them at the moment. Although I'm a Ford guy I'll also admit that I miss the old Caprice Classic with the 350.

Most of the Vic's have already left service, it's been a while since they stopped making them. Our local FBI all had the Taurus and the Charger last I heard. Most of our local departments have gone to the Explorer or the Charger.

Have no desire to own one, but guess I'll always have a soft spot for Ford Crown Vics. I lived a good portion of my life in everything from the earliest models to almost the last models. Like every car - there were shortcomings, but by the time the last years of production were coming out - they were great.
Hate to do 8 - 12+ hours in some of the small stuff out there now.

Remember, Tony Hillerman didn't know about Law Enforcement, either. He was a newspaperman. So, he talked some with the Navajo Tribal Police whose officers he portrayed and studied some Navajo customs and superstitions, and produced one of the best known and best selling detective series ever.
