Its an Italian made Sword and Sandal movie and images are very tough to find--especially good ones.

This is about all I can find. You might be able to find the images you want from sites like: Movie Poster . com, Movies Unlimited and from ebay.

No, no: you have the fine A&E miniseries confused with the old 1950's movie and, "Troy", starring Brad Pitt, which was awful. I didn't even finish watching it.

I told you that in the A&E series, Rufus Sewell played Agamemnon and that Joe Montana was Hercules, and that Helen was played by Sienna Guillory. Even I found pics of her as Helen and pics of the DVD cover, and I am just about inept on a computer.

I'll see if I can find some images of swords in use and of the Greek army landing at Troy and of combat there. It is a very good movie, with fine casting, lavish costumes, and good locations. The actor who played Odysseus looked very familiar, and I think he's American. He reminded me a little of a latter day Cornel Wilde. Most of the cast, other than football player Montana, is British. They do these historical epic films very well.

This movie was an A&E miniseries that ran for about a week on TV and is available on DVD. I have it, and really should get it out and watch again.

I recall seeing a couple of swords that seemed to have fairly blunt points, which irritated me. Other shows at least use firm rubber or resin swords if actors can't be trusted to handle real ones.

In your pictures above, one actor seems to be using an old Euro artillery sword, like some used in our Civil War. They have cast brass hilts. I used to see them pretty often at an antique gun dealer here.

Thanks for trying. The photos that you posted are interesting in themselves. I'm sure that many will enjoy them, as I did. But they're not from the A&E production that I like.

I looked at a few dealer sites that should have had images but didnt see anything by A&E, I havent had any time since last visit to google anything. This movie is like Taras Bulba is---so many same name and type movies which was why I needed a few actors names. I havent had time to look on the A&E site to see what they have on it.

PS. if it is a series? I might not be able to find any suitable images. Series vs movies are two very different birds when it comes to amounts of images printed. For instance--ive been looking for images of the TV series: COMBAT, for a decade and have only run across four images and only one good non-production image.

Yes, a TV mini-series. It was heavily promoted and ran on a cable TV channel for about 1-2 weeks. There is a DVD of it.

The amount of time running doesnt mean anything printed images-wise,=. For instance for the 8 Horatio Hornblower movies w/ Ioan Gruffudd, had maybe one good image per movie when there should be aboit 30 per each movie-yet, ive never run across any for that as well as only one image from approx 16 Sharpes movies. Ive seen quite a few printed images from mini series like: The Blue and the Gray, North and South, The Winds of War and War and Remembrance.

Far as I know--A&E puts everything on DvD. One I want to get is the Napoleon mini series as well as the one about George Washington.

Helen of Troy - YouTube

Here's the opener and main titles, to the point that Prius (John Rhys-Davies) has ordered Paris taken as an infant and thrown from a mountain. But the messenger just leaves him there to await the will of the gods.

SEE MY POST BELOW TO VIEW THE FULL MOVIE!

Of course, he is rescued by a peasant and raised as his son until he is later revealed as the surviving prince. His young sister Cassandra foresaw that if he lived, Troy would burn. She was correct.

You can apparently watch the entire movie in parts on YouTube. I found one video entry that says it is the entire movie.

There's a good dagger fight as well as the war scenes.

Some of the fainthearted may need to be aware that it is pretty grim in places, such as when Agamemnon orders his daughter sacrificed in exchange for the Gods giving his fleet a fair wind to sail for Troy. When his wife learns of this in time, she stabs him to death in a dramatic scene in a bath or swimmimg pool.

It's quite good, and it seems as if you can watch the entire movie for free on YouTube.
