For those who collect ribbon bars, how would you like a rack like this?

My Son seems to have gathered up a few

I keep askin' him which one is for perfect attendance.

He reminds me of Marine double-MoH Recipient-Dan Daly.

A "wee" correction and a DUH moment. Those ribbon bars are NOT Sepp Dietrichs bars. His would have SS runes in place of the Wehrmacht Adlers on the long service bars.

Ribbons are worn when it’s not proper to wear the actual Medal the Ribbon represents. Medals and Ribbons are very special to the people who have earned them through Service to their Country and should be respected as such. It gets my blood boiling when I see “Homeless Vets” standing with a sign begging for money when it’s obvious they were never in Service. Talked to one guy who said he bought his Ribbon laden jacket at the pawn shop and it works wonders bringing in the bucks. Personally I think that should be against the law

I also cherish my Aircrew Wings along with my Medals because it was a difficult challenge to earn them. They will all be given to my grandson when the time comes and I hope he takes the time to understand what they really represent.

People who collect these tributes should do so with the understanding that they were once highly valued and cherished by the original owner and should not be used for frivolous decorations.

I still have my dads gunner wings from WW 2, when he was a ball-turret gunner. These were private purchase and solid silver.

Here's my meager collection......

medals.jpg

The set in the lower right belong with a Triple Lock I own. (WW1)
The sets on the right "could" belong to a SMLE No.4 MkI* and a Webley & Scott Mk IV revolver I also have.. (WW2)

The upper right set were mine........

(If anybody is really bored, they might try looking them up..:p)

Very nice but, those are medal bars-not ribbon bars--but they'll work in this thread. I have several Imperial medal bars as well.
