For you aging rock'n'rollers ...

so what if they do drugs or behave badly?
if i like their sound i dont give a rats axe how they live their lives.or end them.

Yeah, I'm in the minority but I never said that you couldn't admire anyone you want.

Didn't like the Stones 50 years ago, don't like em now. That said, gotta respect their longevity.

We get to see and hear it all, each year here in Reno Nevada during.....................

"Hot August Nights" !!

Musta been a Beatles fan ;)
One of the proudest intergenerational moments of my life occurred about 10 years ago when I overheard my son showing off to his friend his favorite CD. The Rolling Stones "Hot Rocks". Brought a tear to my eye ;)
Say what you want about us old guys but WE knew how to rock and got the music to prove it!

Johnny Rivers is a guy that I don't think gets enough credit. This is from about 1965 and I think it epitomizes rock n roll's attitude at its best. Turned up sport coat collar, skinny pink tie on a black shirt and a soul patch under his bottom lip. Young Johnny is a guitarslinger that has got it going on and the hippie crowd is groovin.

Definitely one of my all time favorites! Did you ever hear Al Jarreau's version? Worth a listen.:cool:

No, but I think I need to. Like Jarreau.

As for "us old guys" knowing how to rock, I missed a lot of the fun. I was 32, with a wife and two kids, when the real Woodstock went down. I was one of those guys the kids weren't supposed to trust.

Good listener, though. And anytime I see the movie "Woodstock" is going to be on the tube I try to catch it.

I still am a Beach Boys fan along with, Johnny Rivers, The Righteous Brothers, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Temptations, and most rockers of the last 50s and 1960s. The music of our generation covered so much ground, from rock and roll to R&B, Soul, folk and acid rock. I listened to Fats Domino, The Everly Brothers, Elvis, the Big Bopper, Buddy Holly with my older brother. I would fall to sleep listening to my TRANSISTOR Radio.

0ver the last several years .....

tommie james , gary lewis & the playboys , gary pucket , the buckinghams , & the rock & roll all stars to name a few .
