I was rummaging through some photographs I took of the memorials in DC some years ago when I was a guardian for an Honor Flight.

It struck me that the Navy memorial was small, yet very powerful. It consisted of a single statue of a seaman resolutely staring ahead while standing beside his duffel bag. If you have not seen it, you might appreciate this photo.

My favorite memorial is the Combat Nurses Memorial, Right where the Vietnam Memorial exits.

But the look on that sailor's face is, I just got discharged in San Diego, and have to hitchhike all the way to Philidelphia!
