Foreign born Small Pistol Primers

I was in my closest Scheel's some time ago, and they had Cheddite primers. Not in the size I wanted, tho. I had never heard of the brand, so I asked. They are French made. The French design some beautiful aircraft, so maybe their primers may be O.K.

I think that brand of primers are well known by shotshell reloaders. (remember, I said I think)

Muron Primers - Buyer beware

I have used literally thousands and thousands of primers from Russia , Tula made at the plant in Muron back a few years ago when components got scare before . Those primers worked just fine . Regards Paul

Resurrecting an old thread as my first post! lol

I just wanted to warn folks about some Muron primers I recently purchased. The boxes I received appeared to be very old and the "scotch tape" around the cases were "yellowing", hence my "old" deduction.

I have had a horrible missfire and 'dud' rate with these. I would say at least 20-25 rounds out of a hundred either needing a "restrike" (some more than once) and other just not firing at all.

I bet the age is the issue seeing that others have not experience like this. If you intend to purchase these, perhaps confirm the age of the product being sold and maybe avoid old stock. You get what you pay for I guess... these were cheap - hence me taking the gamble... so much for that! ;-)

Obviously, we cannot replace/return these to the manufacturer, so I am trying to see what I can do with the merchant.

Cheers
Massboykie
