Do the Historical Foundation records include copies of contracts under which larger quantities of firearms were delivered to foreign governments or resellers? At the moment I am specifically curious about postwar contracts under which M&Ps in .38 S&W (the Pre-11 and dash varieties of the Model 11) were produced for delivery to South Africa and perhaps other Commonwealth countries.

A related question would be whether it is possible to query the digitized records to find all shipments intended for delivery to specific countries, including government agencies, importers and private parties. I understand that such shipments often shipped from the factory to a transfer agent in America, but I'm hoping the ultimate destination -- Uruguay or Costa Rica, say -- would be identified in the paperwork.

David...I can search the post-war records (invoices only) by client name, or I can research a specific S&W firearm. The invoices for foreign shipments were destroyed as I understand it, so I would not find anything on shipments to Uruguay or Costa Rica.
