I understand. Every so often I look at old Glock 17's but fight the temptation - so far.

Earlier this year, I succumbed and bought gen 2 17! Been very happy with it, range and for home defense. Shoots well for me! So my thought for you is try it you might like it, and think of all the accessories you can explore getting into trouble with!

Nice to mix it up. Glocks make great shooters and they're very reliable weapons. 10mm shouldn't be too had on you out of an automatic if you've shot any magnum revolvers.

I don't know why anyone needs to apologize to buy any gun if they spend their own money. If they spend their spouses money that was budgeted to pay rent or buy groceries that might dictate an apology and plead for forgiveness.

Yes, I've been told you can shoot 40s in a 10mm barrel but I don't think I'd care to. I guess the case is just held by the extractor and is held firmly enough to fire. I'd always wonder about that type of head spacing.

I ordered and 40 barrel for my model 40 with conventional rifling so I can shoot cast 40s in the 10. I will probably eventually get a conventionally rifled 10mm barrel for it too. Shooting 40s through it is very mild. I haven't had any failures but it does drop the brass right next to the gun so I do have some concern about that but no actual issues.

40 is basically a 10mm short.

I recently got a great deal on a Gen 5 19. I don't know why but out of all the others I've owned (and sold off) or shot this one actually fits my hand. It came with night sights, 3 mags, box etc. In my hot little hands for under $500 out the door.

I shoot it really really well. As much as I prefer my Colt Gunsight Commander as my daily carry (it disappears in a Sparks VMII) the 19 gets the call during cooler times with a jacket.

Glocks are good tools, a lot of us own them along with our S&W's, I have dropped my glock in dirt and sand, even fell into a river one time with it. The best part is those things might make you feel stupid but you quickly get over it, not so much if it was a nice pristine vintage S&W revolver.

Don't get me wrong, it's nice to hear about it, but why does everyone word it as if it's outlandish, unheard of, or otherwise akin to heresy? Especially on this subforum which is devoted towards the discussion of other brands of firearms.

Yes it is, especially in a G29.

I put off getting a G29 from their introduction to the market until last year. Pickup date on my birthday in Feb coincidentally. Good that I at least waited for the SF version. It's one of my favorite carry pieces now.

Never understood the hate for some guns.

Biggest knock I've seen is the grip size & angle. It works for me though. First Glock I ever fired was a G19. It fely nice in my hand & tore a ragged hole at 10yds (I'm a lousy pistol shot).

The G20sf feels pretty good as well.

I think a lot of the "hate" is tongue in cheek, though some of the fanboiz can be downright annoying.

Your money, your choice, your gun. No problem. Not that it matters, but I've been carrying a Glock for years. It looks a bit different from these photos because it now has Trijicon night sights on it. Do you think I care what someone else thinks of my decision to carry a Glock? How many guesses to you need?
