Sooo...I pulled the trigger on this one I picked up and it followed me home. Those aren't the original shoes on it, though. It's not exactly minty, but the action is cherry and the trigger breaks like glass.

I've only seen it (boolits) used preliminarily on one forum. Then others became infected. Regardless, it's a non-word and I'm pretty tired of seeing it. My most hated blurbs are:
"More accurate than I am" this statement which quantitively means zero is usually uttered the most by folks who cannot hit the ground with a shotgun.
Even the terms "accurate" and "very accurate" mentioned here are seldom defined by group size at distance so they essentially mean nothing. Accurate means different things to different people. I always find it amusing when somebody checks mechanical accuracy by shooting groups off of a rest at 7 or 10 yards??

Plagiarism is the real problem. Originality is hard. Nuff said.
"Run" when referring to lubrication used, or ammo or other accessories on (or in) a gun, as if the gun were a car or something. Such as, "I'm running some new Pachys on my Model 10". Oh yeah, "Pachys" used for "Pachmayr".
And guys who write like they are Jed Clampett or Yosemite Sam, when I know damned well that they can write in a professional manner for their job.
Oh, yes, "steady diet of ____" ammo has gotten plenty stale.
OK, one more; "princely sum" for the purchase price of a gun back in the old days.

Yep, I forgot about boolits too. That's one that torques me up too. I buy bullets to reload with at my LGS or online. I buy a box of cartridges if I want some factory ammo. Boolits sounds like something a ghost eliminated on the floor to me.

My forum pet peeve/cliche is when people post clips of old western movie one liners or Clint Eastwood (i.e. Dirty Harry) films.
Sure glad I didn't pick either of those genres. Wouldn't want to step on anybody's pet 'roun' hyar!

I had to chime in once more.
Recently, it seems that the meaning and correct useage of the word "grain" has eluded folks. For example you see: "what grain 9mm ammunition is best.......". "Grain" is a measure of weight as "inch" is a measure of distance. Sentences such as: "what inch cast bullet should I use in my .45 ACP handloads" sounds really pretty stupid. Yet you continually see phrases such as: "What grain .30-06 ammo should I use for deer?". Equally stupid!!!
I sometimes wonder whats up with these folks. Do they not know any better because they are current products of the public education system in this country. Are they like some folks who feel eMail, phone text messages and the internet are "informal communication forms" and therefore spelling, punctuation and the correct use of upper and lower case letters are therefore unnecessary? Have things really deteriorated this far?? The non-word "prolly" is another abomination. The explanation I heard for this gem is that it's an unofficial phone text contraction of the actual word "probably" used to save typing characters. Just how many characters are saved anyway-two??
I thank God for Sister Mary Discipline and the Jesuits. At least I can spell basic words, add and subtract without a calculator. I can do multiplication and division longhand (simple things in my head also) and even simple square roots the old fashioned way. I could make change when I worked at Micky D's without a machine back when cars had Flintstone wheels also.

Not all of us majored in the English language.Heck,some of us might even be using "speech to text".I've seen posts where sentences were absolute gibberish.I know we should all be a little more careful when posting but some of it goes beyond ridiculous.
