So last week I got the Apex forward set sear and trigger kit and a Storm Lake ported barrel for my M&P40. WOW! What a difference! The trigger is almost perfectly smooth and dare I say a little hair trigger-ish. What I mean is when you take the little bit of slack out of it, and there is not much with this kit, you are a hair away from sending a round down range. I must say that its a very good kit. I decided to use the "green" spring that came with the kit to keep the trigger pull in the 5lb range since it is a carry pistol for me.

The Storm Lake barrel is nice, I'm not 100% sure that it made a big difference, but I do feel my grouping was tighter. Next time I'm out with it I will actually take that time and test the difference. Otherwise, the barrel is good quality and dropped right in. I would like to polish it to allow for a smoother recoil but I don't want to screw with the tolerances that Storm lake built into it.

But between all of that and a set of TruGlo TFO sights (green/yellow) I must say that I am more than pleased with this pistol. I can't wait for the ammo supplies and prices to recover so I can do more shooting.

I have ordered the Forward Set Sear kit for my new M&P40. I've had great luck with Apex parts in the past. The Apex kit (new polymer trigger, springs, forward set sear, and universal striker block) is a good deal for $129, although it raises the overall cost of the M&P (which was $455 - $50 rebate, for the LE model, with three magazines) to about $530 -- which is still competitive for a good quality polymer pistol. Apex is doing free shipping this weekend...

Not sure what the Storm Lake barrel offers. Will initially stick with the standard barrel to see how it goes.

I still think the barrel is ugly as sin but that new trigger is butter... I really wish i would of put the money into that gun but i know with you it'll be well taken care of
