Just went into an old gun shop today and got down and in back of case was a big Smith of some kind . He showed me and it was a ex cond 27 no dash with beautiful coke non relived grips, gorgeous deep blue, and tag said with box I asked to see box and it is a gold box and says the 357 magnum revolver , not new looking but a gold smith box barrel is I think 6.5 inch the gun is real nice looks like a dresser drawer gun . serial 18675x I took it home. I got my 629 P/R 4 inch back a few months ago . also found a 67 with stainless sites real nice for 299 cash also took it home . Anyone know what year this 27 may be ??????? the 27 was 625 bucks .

You got a model 27 with Cokes and a Gold Box for $625?

Do you know how good a deal that is? That is about $1000 lower than a fair asking price for that package.

You did very well for yourself.

VERY WELL.

I'll look up the serial number for you shortly. My kids are using my iPad.

May I respectfully ask you to hold the phone and back up a bit.
It came with Coke configuration grips that are not relieved (cut on the upper left part), correct? Thats enough for now. A pic?

PICTURES!?!?!?!!??!?? Gotta have pictures with a story this good

I will try and post some ,thats what is on the gun large diamond cokes not relieved .This same shop a few months back had a 29dash2 6.5 with pachmyers for like 569 I cant buy everything but I was going home with this 27. The 27 I had came in the wood box I would buy them for 300 back then .

I may be wrong on the coke grips they are target type with the diamond in center very nice cond . no left relief cut out but for target grips they seem a tad smaller than my 629 P/R 4 in football thumbprint type . I didnt want this gun had 27 in the past but I couldn't go home with out it . It was way back of gun case the store was getting packed on Sat I was down on my knees looking back in the case and could see a Smith grip .

Is there such a thing as NR Cokes? Most likely they are targets from early to mid 1950s.

Was barrel length mentioned? In any event a give away price. I shudder at the pittance the dealer must have paid for it to sell that cheap.

Just noticed you said you think a 6.5" barrel. The 6" is very common. The 6.5" is very rare. Measure carefully.
