US Veteran
My late night slumming on the internet recently produced an interesting gun:
At first glance, a generally unremarkable Victory.
However, if we look closely:
The top strap lacks the US Property markings common to these guns.
Not entirely unusual though; DSC guns usually don’t have it.
The backstrap bears the markings of the Hessen police:
Serial number:
Interesting gun. Winds up in post-war German police force, yet lacks US Property markings. Sounds letter-worthy to me.
And the SWHF comes back with……. 22AUG44 shipped to Strategic Services Rosslyn, VA!
Coolness! I have an OSS gun!
Actually I found two of them that week. This is just the one I had decent images of.
I’m not an OSS guy so I’ll sell the two OSS guns off to finance my burgeoning N-frame .357 Magnum addiction. Still, I think it’s cool that I have a couple documented OSS guns!
Best,
RM Vivas
