Went up north to a gun show Saturday and found this little Jem.

Model 60 no dash with box and paper. Missing the original grips but that will be a easy find. Had one not as near like this a few years back I traded off. Was a bit sloppy and had no box. This one is a keeper.

Congrats on your new/old 60. I also made the same mistake and recently got another 60-7.

I just got another one. I have had six of these that I sold or traded. I always end up getting another.

I recently found this original "never fired" one a few weeks back from an older woman.

Oh your lucky, I've been wanting one of those. Saw one on an auction once that sat forever because the price was near $600 (it was NIB). When he finally lowered it to something decent I didn't have the money for it, oh well.

Model 60

4864 I bought a 60 no- ,Nov 67 when got back from
Vietnam. It would put 5 rnds in about 1 1/2" at 20 yards
benched. I sold it to a U S Customs agent that wanted it
real bad. It came with box, papers etc . Wish I could see
good enough shoot like that again. Watch your 6.

I saw a nice one at a gun show yesterday for $700. It looked really good, but it was definitely not NIB because the cylinder was pretty dirty. It was marked "Kentucky State Police" which I thought was really cool, but it seems like that price might be a little high.

After I picked this up at the Gun Show I checked out the local gun shops. One has a Model 60 no dash that had seen better days. Lots of pitting on the frame around the grips. I'm sure there was more under them as well. Lots of wear to the rest with scratches on the barrel. Had the correct grips on it and they wanted $399.00.

Now it can be told.

A few years ago I found a Model 60, at a good price, with a set of Herrets grips installed. I bought it specifically to give to my youngest son when he got old enough.

As of April 15, he's old enough so it has been designated as his gun.
I like the M60 but I like the M49, M38 and M649 better.
My oldest son got my M49. My daughter got a Charter Arms Undercover, and the youngest now has the M60.

I was finally able to talk my buddy out of the one I sold him several years ago. Got it home and it lasted all but about 10 minutes once the wife saw it.
They DO shoot. I personally witnessed my buddy shoot a 40 yard group with it that you could cover with the palm of your hand!!!

I already have one, but the other day I came across a no dash 60, pinned with an R serial no. with alot of external wear. Had original grips, no box or papers Paid $180. The trigger pull was terrible. I changed the Hammer spring and the rebound spring. Lightened up nicely, but I am having some issues. Posted in the gunsmithing section, and in the process of trying to rectify. Great little guns. I hope this one works out.
Enjoy your new find.
Tom
