A year or so ago, with the help of a Forum member, I acquired a WW2 Mark 2 fighting knife made by Camillus, one of the handful of companies that made "Ka-Bar" type knives for WW2

A couple of months ago I purchased a PAL RH36 knife from WW2. Then I found out that during WWII the PAL Company made knives in Holyoke, MA, the town where my Dad was born and raised and where he spent WWII from age 10-14. Naturally, as a member of this Forum, I was compelled to look for more examples of WWII PALs. I found two more PALS, ending up with these three (not including the Camillus Mark 2).

A bit of research showed that PAL also made a Mark 2 fighting knife, an M3 "Trench Knife" and an M4 Bayonet for the M1 Carbine.

Tonight I found a PAL Mark 2, also known as the "RH-37"

It's amazing that as long ago as WWII was these are still able to be found . I myself never got the hankering to collect these , probably because it's damn near impossible . Good luck

With the passing on of the remaining WW2 veterans I think there is renewed interest in WW2 memorabilia in the children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews who cherish the memory of their dear departed.

For me, pieces from WWII help me hold close the memory of my uncles who served in the Pacific theatre. They, like the untold myriads before and after them, were ready and willing to do whatever was necessary.

Now, you need to find a Pal marked M1905 16" Bayonet, aka M-1942 bayonet. They are tough to find and expensive when found.

I've got my dad's Navy Ka-Bar, no sheath. Probably 50's or 60's issue. Nothing cuts or keeps an edge like that thing.

I've been trolling ebay lately, looking at Marble's knives and struggling to keep my wallet in my pocket.

Great finds and thanks for the pics. Seems milsurp guns and knives have soared with interest among collectors in the last few years. As a kid I recall these items could be had for cheap. Not anymore.

Congrats on your hometown WWII finds. I always wanted a WWII momento from my home town of Elizabeth NJ, where Singer made a batch of 1911A1s.

But since they only made 500 of them and go for astronomical amounts of cash....

As I am closing in on getting a complete set of WW2 PALs I find myself slipping out of control. Just found this PAL M4 bayonet for the M1 carbine:

(ironic note, the M1 carbine is a prohibited assault weapon in New Jersey, go figure)

For many years one of my prized possessions was my Dad's WW2 knife, along with his dog tags, several Army issued shirts and discharge papers.
He passed away in 1965 when I was only 10 years old so we never had a chance to talk about his experiences in the war. Several years ago I thought it appropriate to pass on the knife to my nephew who is serving in the Army and never had a chance to know his grandfather. He cherishes that knife as I did.

I thought people on this Forum were friends not fiends

I'm just trying to help! I understand the addiction.

When you find one, you'll be happy to add it to your collection! Trust me.

That's a nice one! Do you have the M8 scabbard?
