pre- model 10
excellent shape locks up tight.

You are correct, it is a pre-Model 10. It should have shipped from S&W in October or November 1949. We cannot see your picture as posted, but using the address, it is a snubby - the most desirable of the typical ordinary M&Ps. Grips seem correct. Are they numbered to the gun (reverse side)?

yes grips match gun now the million dollar question is it worth more than $550?
 
The Barrel seems to be a different color than the Gun,Does it number to the Gun? It could just be the lighting in the picture....
 
just the lighting it numbers to gun . I looked at all that stuff before buying
have payed a lot of attention in here and i hope i put it to good use today
 
If you like it then it doesn't matter what somebody else thinks it's worth.

"I just bought this...what's it worth?"

I don't know why people always ask that question.
 
if that slope is wanting more and more smith revolvers than i have done fallen off that slope hard
