Looking at a 5 screw Pre 27 6.5"

Serial number is S948xx.
Since I already own a 3.5" S94576 I assume it would be about the same time frame of 1952-54.

No it was on line on the west coast so I was waiting for the store to open.

Very nice .357 Magnum, and you got a smokin' deal even without its original stocks! The closest one I own is a little later (S140334, ca. 1955), and it's one of the favorites in my modest collection. Enjoy!

Their SN's are 251 apart which was why I snagged the 6.5" to go with my 3.5".
