Bought a Mdl 53 Jet a few years ago, but the extra cylinder was missing. Found one at the Houston HGCA show last weekend:

Those .22 LR cylinders are hard to find. Congratulations.

Mike's question is a good one. I bought a complete set a couple of years ago, but the cylinder was not numbered. When I lettered the gun, I found it had shipped without a second cylinder. The first owner must have picked it up as a separate some time after he made the original purchase.

Congratulations on the purchase of a hard to find spare cylinder.

I'm glad we agreed on a price early in the show to rework my grips.
I was dropping off a pair of target grips for the Gator to rework, when he was beaming and his table partner was cackling that the price might be going up because the Gator had bought a gun.

Congrats on the find a tough grail to pick up.

Congragulations on your find. What is a spare 22 lr cylinder for a Model 53 going for these days.

I don't know if the gun originally shipped with an extra cylinder or not.

A cylinder sold on GB awhile back for $300, I bought this one for $200.

Great find. Back in the day, you could have S&W fit a 22 LR cylinder to your M53 or M48. That's not going to happen again either. I just bought, at a very high price, a minty 6" with inserts and no box. 1st year, # K 444444. At 99%, it won't be fired. A few of these have showed up on Auction Arms and even the beaters are not cheap. I figuered I had better get on the band wagon quick, or snooze and lose. Big Larry:eek::eek:
