Hi all. I just added a m&p 40c to my collection. Used and not sure how old tho. Shot it today for the first time. It did great, 100 rds of 180 gr reman. I noticed my take down lever does not stay down, but read the fix for that. (Seems pretty common)
My question :
I read awhile back that someone sent their gun back because there was a noticeable gap between the frame and slide. Mine also has a pretty big gap. I think I read that he had his frame replaced. Is this normal to have this gap???

Mine is the same

I just looked at mine. Same thing.
I wouldn't worry about it too much if the slide doesn't rattle around in the closed position.

Mine is vintage 9/13 and doesn't say "stainless" on the slide as yours does.

Yeah, looks like my FS 45, you can see light right through it even atop the mag well with the mag out.

I wouldn't get excited as long as it shoots where you are aiming.

This is common to pretty much all poly frame autos. As the frame heats up it will expand some and you don't want it to start rubbing the bottom of the slide thus everyone leave a rather noticable gap in the design. No worries.
