Why no SN in the yoke cut?
Interesting question, but the ATF registered number is located on the bottom of the grip frame. As long as the number on the bottom of the grip frame is intact, it's legit.

Fixed it! A few passes with a fine diamond file removed just enough to let the screw seat properly. Much easier than I thought it would be. Thanks for all the insight and comments!

Here she is with her new sideplate. Now my OCD can rest easy.
That turned out great! I don't think it is very often that a replacement side plate fits that well without a lot of work.

Thanks, other removing what must have been a small burr to get the yoke retention screw to fit, it just needed a few light taps with a nylon mallet to seat it. I was expecting it to be much more involved. Luck of the draw I suppose.
