Friday pawn shop save **Pictures IN 1st Post***

Envy is a bad thing. It isn't pretty. Good thing this board doesn't show faces (LOL).

Seriously, congratulations on an exceptional find. I join the chorus of voices saying don't refinish.

I know I am way late on this.
From experience, many guns of this type and vintage were in fact glove box guns.
Everybody in Texas, in those years, had one stuck in the glove box---it lived there.
That is typical of those that I saw when growing up in Texas--and the condition of them was this description.
Used to could find them all over the place--but you boys got 'em all hoarded up now.
Good shooters-those old glove box guns.
Blessings

Just to add to what has already been said, that has to rank as one of the great deals of the year. I've found them for 3 to 4 times as much and thought I was living on a cloud, but you are up in the stratosphere!

Congratulations!

Do a little Library digging............

Since there were two guns ordered it is possible they were for a presentation to lawmen or other notables in the community.

Start at the ship date and scan the local paper to see if there were any articles about the presentation of a couple of revolvers by the bank.

Might have been involving a foiled Bank Robbery, then again might have just been a Banker who just wanted a couple of insurance polices for the house and the office.

In any event a great find. Congratulations!

Awesome find! I've yet to even see a Registered Mag except for pics online--would be neat to see one in person. I have been in plenty of pawn shops like that one you bought the gun in, where to them thats just some old beater gun. With SOME FFL's they are clueless when it comes to the old stuff--fine by me because if I ever came across one for that price I'd snatch it up too.

Am green with envy over such an amazing find! I too scour the hole-in-the-wall pawns and tiny gun shops for finds, and have made many, but yours is particularly exceptional! Well done!

Haven't seen this post in a while. I just turned green again.
I just shake my head when I hear "I talked the guy down from $450 to $350 on a Registered Magnum....WHAT?!

Yep. Since grip adaptors can easily bring twice what you paid for the gun, one way to look at it would be that you gave the shop $350 for the adaptor and they gave you the gun and $350 in cash in return. Be a tough act to follow!
