Friend has a S&W 3913 he wants to trade me

I would go buy a new 48 to trade him if you didnt have one to trade him

Brick yards are full of bricks, handmade, sundried bricks are a class act. Glocks are bricks that look like handguns, 3913's are classic firearms that you will be proud to own and show off.

Without looking at the Glock I can't tell you the model number of a single one of them, show me a 39(XX) and I know it's a S&W classic. And if it's in your hand I know you are a person of class.

I started buying 3913/14 magazines when I started buying 3913/14 guns. I bought them when I saw them listed at good prices. Back when they could be found at good prices.

I bought some beat up ones and once found just the tube at a gun show for $10.00. I stuffed that tube with components that I have also stocked up on.

It's unfortunate that they aren't available new any longer.

In all I must have eight mags (not including the ones in the two 3913/3914s) All factory stainless mags.

Done deed!!! Hammer installed. It had a longer strut so I had to swap struts to!

Did as much functioning check as I could. Disconnector works, hammer dropper works, firing pin flies forward with good power.

Gun range tomorrow for final checking (and some practice while there.)

All... rightie.. test fired the "Lady". After manual check at home for hammer pushoff, disconnector fail, safety fail, etc... I then repeated at the range with reloads. Live fire.

Group is at 10 yards. Even fired the first round DA. Trigger pull SA is quite good (and no I didn't touch it at all.) I guess between the sear that was in the gun and the new/old (it is a used hammer) the surface was polished over the years from firing.

Why do I shoot at 10 yards? Simple. I feel for true self defense 10 yards is more like what one might run into most of the time (or less!)

Quite happy with the 'Lady'.

Beautiful!

Good shootin'!
I have mine loaded with Hornady Critical Defense Lite.
I want to shoot rapidly and can do so with this round.
Of course, I'm not so tight as you are with this group.
The Bill Drill:
Draw from standard carry practice and fire six shots into the A zone in three seconds.
All in the A zone or it is a fail.
Only your first cold run counts, since this is how real fights will be.
Start working at three yards and eventually increasing distance.
Do it in 2 seconds at ten yards and you are my hero forever!
Seven yards is standard skill.

I think you did great, both with the hammer installation and the live fire. The S&W pistols do have really nice single action triggers, rivaling that of the Model 1911.

This thread should have been " I traded a common Glock for a minty 3913 with extra magazines..." ... you should have already made that trade. Heck, if you don't want to do it, I will buy a Glock and trade him...
