There's a gentleman here I've known for a while , he's one of the one's that feeds my PC addiction . I haven't talked to him in a while , sorry to say . It's one of those "I'll call/text when I get a chance," but that chance doesn't come . This friend just reached out to see if the hurricane hit us hard . He then proceeded to tell me that he's with his wife who is in a rehab . She was in the hospital for some time before that .

Now he's a man I've never met face to face , just from this forum . I've acquired some PC guns from him and we'd talk once in a while . But this touched me . Here's a man who I wouldn't know if he walked up to me and his wife is in a rehab . But he took the time to check in with me and see how we were doing .

I was blessed to find this forum and meet the people I have . We all have friends we've known or worked with . But to have friends you've never met face to face and that care about you , that is truly special .........

Some of us have been lucky enough to meet friends here with which we actually spent time. I met Thom Braxton ("Sasaberanger") and wife Debbie at a LGS back in 2007. Through Thom, I also met Patrick Grashorn ("Executioner") and wife Rose. Meeting for lunches became a regular occurrence as well as sharing tables with Thom at local gun shows. I am truly grateful for the fun and friendship I was blessed to have. If you were on Thom's email list of "guys", you never lacked for interesting information and laughs in your inbox :).

There are a few people I keep in touch with by emails from here, good people. The NE Ohio Bunch was formed from this forum and we have had a great time twice a year for at least 14 years. A lot of nice forum members have come to the Bunch over the years and were great acquaintances. Friendship's have formed between the Bunch members and that's fantastic. Larry

Agreed. I've only been around (in this forum) about year or so and looking forward to many more. I've met a few people and connected several times with one member with multiple shared interests. The Bunch folks of the Cleveland area are pure class. Proud to call 'Oldman10mm' a friend...

Maybe I have a soft spot for leathernecks, but I don't mind saying you have been a valuable one here. Is there a word for internet friend?
Please consider me one of yours!

(I ain't gonna buy you no gun though.)

Best Regards ChrryPnt!

I corresponded with Thom for years, almost got to meet him on a couple occasions and regretted not doing so when I read of his passing.
Membership in the SWCA gives you a once every year chance to put a face to the name at our annual Symposium. It's well worth the effort, time and expense. This year's Symposium is schedule for June 11-15 in Concord, NC (a suburb of Charlotte). If you can attend I promise you won't regret it.
Regards,
John Witty

I have made several friends here on the forum. Guys that I have bought things from, or sold to. Even just sharing information. It is great to have people to consult with.

I do have 1 friend that I am in touch with several times a day via text. We have talked a few times. First thing every day we share the weather report.

He is a redneck pineapple pizza eating carpetbagger from somewhere along the banks of the Ohio River. He is a professional lawn mower and recreational vehicle service tech.

Aside from his other attributes, he is a master enabler, and is more than willing to help you spend every nickel you have buying Smith and Wessons.

He probably won't see this right?:eek::D:D

Sounds like there's a lot of us here that have made friends here on the forum . Turnerriver , I'll be there next year . I went to the last one that was in Concord . I met a few there that I knew , and picked up a sweet 14-4 and some mags .

There are a lot of people that I think of as friends on the Forum, even though we haven't met or spoken. We get to know each other somewhat in posts and threads. I always try to help when there is something covered by my skill set. I don't know a lot about rifles and semi autos, I'm mainly a revolver guy. There are some other very competent revo guys on the Forum, so I don't try to answer every question. I have great respect for them, as there aren't many good revo guys left any more. Between the lot of us, we can usually come up with some good help for those in need.

Strangely, the only Forum member I have met in person is Kiwi Cop from New Zealand. He and his lovely wife stopped by for a brief but enjoyable visit on one of their America tours. We were honored to have them, they are good people. Anyone else who might be in the area is also welcome to visit. Let us know ahead of time so we can make sure to be home.
