Ok all, new to the froglube thing and have a question I can't seem to find an answer to. Do any of you that live in humid environments still wipe down your edc with a silicone cloth after you switched to froglube?

That's some interesting reading thanks. I've been a breakfree guy forever but got a free set of this. I have my daily come home from the heat and humidity(Alabama) and sweating all day. Unholster, clear it and silicone cloth it. I'm an old guy and set in my habits but my friend swears buy it. Before I cooked it on just was curious about the silicone cloth

I use Frog Lube and a silicone cloth on my M&P's, haven't noticed any kind of reaction. (I use Mobil 1 on my 2011's cause they like to run dripping wet )

I use a cloth with frog LUBE on it. No silicone or clp....just the frog lube

Just some of the liquid on a microfiber cloth then? These next few cool
Months are not a problem but once the heat comes back my Edc can get pretty wet after 10 hours. Thanks

No on a few levels.

No I don't use frog lube. No reason, just don't.

No I don't wipe down the outside of my edc unless i get oil on it. Don't remember the last time I wiped down the outside of my gun and we have crazy humid summers and this gun is carried all year long, rain, shine, humidity, snow, wind, freezing or boiling hot. Carried in iwb too

Kind of a have to for me, I could rust a glock. I think I sweat pure acid lol

I use hornady one shot hd extreme on the inside and outside. My primary, P220 Elite Dark, is kept in a humid locker room 95% of the time. No rust at all. Before HD extreme i would find rsurface rust if I didn't rub down the exterior regularly.

Thanks for the tip. I'll look at that

Is this for an M&P?

I've used Frog Lube on my M&Ps with great success. The one thing to remember is that it must be wiped completely off once it's been heated. It's not like other lubes. If you leave too much on there, it will bind up the works. It's like wax. Sure, it will melt and add lubrication after the gun heats up, but I want my guns to work from the first shot.

It's counter intuitive. The gun should look like it has no lubricant on it. It will make the gun easier to clean after shooting.

Frog Lube says that it will bind with any oil and remove it. Silicone is not oil. Your silicone cloth won't harm the Frog Lube, but it won't help either. You'll be just as well off using a dry cloth.

Yes, m&p 9 and a shield. I got it applied on the shield. The family liked the smell better lol. Wiped it down and we will give it a go thanks

Call me old fashioned, but for close to 40 years now all I have used on the outside of my guns is RIG Universal Grease. It is a very light grease that basically rubs on like a heavy oil. Wipe it on and with another cloth wipe it all off. Never had any rust issues at all with it. Great for long term storage. Only thing is for storage I don't wipe it off as thoroughly.
