From ten 27s down to two.

I love the N frames. I have a 27-2 6 1/2 nickel thats to nice to shoot, a 27-2 3 1/2 inch and two pre 27's a 3 1/2 and a 5 inch. I'd like to find a 4 inch. As much as I like the 357 I also have a soft spot for the M29 and M57

I have an idea why: because it's completely awesome! Look at that finish! I have a Smith & Wesson 19-2 from 1963 and it has that same brilliant finish because that's back when they would mirror polish the revolvers before doing an excellent blueing job! But besides the finish the barrel and shroud are magnificent and it's a 6.5" 27 .357 Magnum!

I don't think we can be friends anymore, rubiranch.

;)

I think now is a good time to sell if you're looking to thin the herd.

My 27-2 is a 5" also. It seems like the perfect length for an N-frame IMO.

It aint goin anywhere, either!:)

Shipped 3/11/60, my 6.5" M27.
This one's my favorite and I have no idea why. ;)
For me this is the epitome of .357 Magnums.

And my 5" M27-2 shipped 9/4/75.
Its beautiful and carries a lot of sentimental value.

I've had a few that monetarily were worth a lot more than either
one of these but these are the two that I kept.
The 5" is the perfect N frame .

When I was getting halfway into each barrel length 27 or Pre, there were two interesting ones being auctioned by the same guy. They were both close to ANIB 27-2s(or case). The one caught my attention was the 5 inch. I honestly didn't even notice the 4 inch for a day or two, as the same bidder was bidding on both. What a dilemma for a choice. As time went on, we both started bidding mainly on the 5 inch in the case.

To make things even more difficult, we both agreed the five inch was the way to go. That guy(gal) stopped bidding on the 4". I bid on the four to be high man and he kept bidding on the five.

The hours were getting late. Think he went to bed high on the five and low on the four(blue box). I stayed awake. I was high bidder on both 27s before I went to sleep AFTER the auction was over.. I was one happy man, and sold something I wanted to keep to make the deal. I came to a fork in the road, and took it.

The 4" pre-27 was expensive. :D

I have one 6.5" 29-2 shipped Jan 14, 1964.
I'm still debating if its a keeper or not.

I sold a nice 6" 57 and kept my 58.

The 4" pre-27 was expensive. :D

I saw one on GI a little while ago. One of the Cabela's stores had it. It was a nice gun with Cokes for $2000 or so. I thought about it to long:(. Both of my 3 1/2 M27's were expensive but I have them ;)

My 4" pre-27 sold for right around $6000.

I believe there were fewer than 25 produced.
