It would take much more than that to rob me of my daily joy and cheerfulness.

I've had a pretty happy past. Ex-wives don't bug me, the car wrecks I learned from, I walked away after the bar fights, family & friends have died and I was sad but death happens. I really don't let my past bother me; just thank the lord I can still remember most of it.
I also had a couple/few good attorneys way back when, thank goodness.

I misunderstood! I thought you were talking about some jerks throwing your past in your face! Instead, you're talking about doing it to yourself. I don't let me do that to me.
BTW; The girls that got away, are good riddance. The jobs that got rid of you, gave you the ability to take on the next challenge. The guns I sold, gave way to different guns. (or as a ex B-I-L said, that gun was 3 weeks groceries!)
