The fiber optic front sight on my M&P 9 came off while shooting the first magazine today. I was standing in grass and despite looking for about 10 minutes, I was unable to find the sight. The gun is still under the 1 year warranty period. Is this item covered under warrant?

I was just on the Dawson Precision site and saw how easy it is to replace FO sights-

DUH- I feel like a dummy for even asking about warranty issues.

I may replace the stock sights with Trijcon night sights.

The white dot on my front sight came off or went missing. I just ended up replacing with Hi-Viz sights. They look great.

I too lost my FO rod on my M&P Pro 9 and agree completely with OKFC5. Order a couple rods and keep it in your range bag. Very easy to install.

Easy enough....but isn't there a way to keep them from falling off? Seems like a real PITA to keep replacing them all the time..And where is the best place to buy the fiber rod??

The green FO part of my front sight also dissappeared after only about 150 rounds through my M&P 9 Pro - not much of a PRO sight! I've emailed S&W, but have not heard back yet.
In the mean time, I've ordered a piece of green FO material from above and watched the video above - Thanks for the info everyone! If replacing the FO portion of the sight becomes a regular activity, I'm having my gunsmith put something more durable on for me.

That is one of the downsides to fiber optic sights, they are all about the same. One that does hold up better are the HiViz "overmolded" models. That's why I only use them on range guns instead of SD ones.

I got a yard of .59 red fiber optic and replaced the sight in 3 minutes. I haven't shot with the new sight yet, but in bright sunlight, the red pops out.

I need to get tritium night sights, & will do so after some work on the boat!

My yard of green .06"/1.5mm FO rod arrived today and it took just a few minutes to make my front sight as good as new (hopefully better). S&W responded to my email and is mailing me a whole new front sight. The tech says, "it's easy to replace." I'll keep it as a spare for now. I also emailed Novak about the broken/missing FO rod. They replied that "this happens after you shoot a while." They sell packs of 4 small replacement rods for $4.00. The above yard of FO rod for $5.95 + $2.50 shipping is a much better deal - life time supply for me.

I have be researching sights on the web and the Truglo TFO sights with yellow rear and green front looks interesting for the price but has some mixed reviews. Has anyone here had any experience with them, good or bad, that you could share??

Thanks!
