Frozen Dinners

I eat frozen meals for lunch at work. We don't have a cafeteria, and the temptation of fast food is all around. Besides, if you do the math you cannot go to the car park and start your vehicle without it costs more than a TV dinner.

I eat the Marie Callender's chicken pot pies now and again, but mostly it's Lean Cuisine for me. I also hit up Marie's bowls when the price is right, especially the sweet and sour chicken. The only TV dinner I've dropped is the Parmesan Crusted Fish. It never comes out of the microwave right.

There was a cartoon in True Magazine many years back. It depicted a cople in divorce lawyers office. The wife ad a black eye. The lawyer said If you had hit with your fist instead of a frozen TV dinner I think she would had a case.

My folks are 95 (Dad) and 86 and still live at home. My Mom has dementia and can't cook. My Dad's cooking skills were based on C and K-rats in WWII and Korea and he never cooked thereafter. I started shopping for them after COVID hit, and frozen dinners were pretty much their diet, unless my wife and I brought something by. Thankfully my younger sister now lives with them and handles the cooking.

My Dad's favorite is either Banquet or Marie Callender buffalo chicken Mac and Cheese. Also the Marie C. pot pies. The Boston Market chicken fried steak, and salisbury steak were also well liked.

No microwave back in the day, you had to cook them in the oven .
