For all my brothers stuck in nanny states I wanted to post the FRS15-22 conversion kit.

Looks like they decided to help us poor 15-22 owners out.

SMITH & WESSON M&P 15-22 ADAPTER KIT

Might look a little better without the "buffer tube," but where would you get your cheek weld from without it?

I have the QD buffer tube cover (post #4) on an AR15 pistol, plan to put another on a new AR15 pistol I am building. The guy who made this is the guy who invented arguably the best bullet button tool ever (UBBT - "THE ULTIMATE BULLET BUTTON TOOL") for those of us in CA. He has awesome ideas and great skill.

Anyway, the FRS system blows the looks and function of the hammerhead or monsterman featureless setups - IMHO

It's not a pistol grip according to CA law, so it helps to not get some things classified as restricted.

OK that is about the only thing I can see this does. Their wording does not make logical sense:
"The Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 adapter kit is designed to compensate for the differences in lower reciever design between a standard AR-15 lower and the M&P 15-22. The result is a much better fit and enhanced ergonomics. Installation is very easy with just a few tools."
I can't see that it does any of those things. The ergonomics are worse than stock, at least for a rifle. There are essentially no differences to speak of between the 15-22 lower receiver (they can't spell either) and the AR lower except the pivot pin locations, unlike their statement.
Heck I could have made it better and compliant by making a grip to stock extension similar to the Beretta Storm carbine.

The "Adapter kit" is just the adapter kit, to adapt the FRS Stock System to the 15-22. You have to purchase a full FRS Stock and then the Adapter Kit.

What you quoted is the adapter pieces, they are talking about how it fills in the void around the handgrip area and the adapter to mount the buffer tube cover.

Only problem is if you made that stock then it would NOT be compliant. So it would be a wasted effort and would still require registration. And yes the storm is an evil unpurchasable assault weapon in NY.

The 15-22 has a different geometry around the pistol grip, more like an AR10. That's why when you want to use certain pistol grips they have a gap when installed and you need to use a wedge/filler to make it look right:

The AR-15 version of this stock tries to follow the receiver, which leaves a gap on the 15-22. It also has space for the castle nut that is present on collapsible stock AR-15's, which isn't on the 15-22. This kit just fills both those gaps.

If you don't live in a locked down state like CA when it comes to "featureless" rifles, this thread has little value to you as it has nothing you would want. And even for those of us in CA, it so happens the 22lr being reclassified as an "AW" was taken off the pending legislation (for now). So for CA, you can have the good old 15-22 with a pistol grip, standard mag release and adjustable stock. Point is, there is a reason for this thread and why it would be of interest to some and it is not a new part or device you would want unless you live in a locked down state.

Here in NY the 15-22 is a dangerous asault weapon the kills babies at random. it will require registration in a few months so i will get one
