629-1 with scope ring cuts (rare? I’m not going to mount a scope out there)
The wood used for the grips came from my Dad’s backyard (Lychee). It was a lot lighter when I first got the grips but over time it got darker. I’m not liking it as much. I’d rather have bird’s eye maple. What do you think?
I am thinking that homemade stocks are worth more than any dollars someone might give for them. Look at any old furniture, it has darkened if it has ever seen the sun.
I would keep them as is.
I would keep em. They look like the Culinas handywork. And if the wood was from my dad's backyard, they'd be valuable to me and maybe family. They look like maple burl grips i had them make up for me. And have the same color.
Personally, I like those grips just fine the way they are, I would actually prefer them over birds eye maple. I have a couple of pair of Hogue wood grips in Tulipwood and I really like them on stainless steel handguns.
