Hello,

Does anyone have the following new production revolvers from S&W?

Models: 19 4", 66 4" & 2.75", 10 4"

If so can you measure the extractor rod throw(stroke) length. S&W advertises the 66 2.75 as having a "Full-Length Extractor Rod". I would like to confirm this with those that own them.

For example here is the info on 3 revolvers that I own(as measured with dial caliper).

10-6 1.125"
64-3 1.101"
Ruger GP100 .890"

Brass length after once fired(from rim to mouth of case).
winchester 38 1.090"
PMC 357 1.225"

So far the only revolvers I have ever seen with full length extractors are fixed sight m&p k-frame 4" 38 revolvers. I doubt there are any full length 357 revolvers(maybe in regards to 38 cases though).

I just want to get this out of the way up front. Yes, I know you can use a faster or brisk/slap on the rod to fully extract even 357 length cases with short rods like my gp100 and j frames. Just wanted to see if any new production revolvers had full length extractors like my older M&P k frames. From my understanding all the L frame revolvers have short extractors too, like the gp100. And no, I don't have problems with cases getting stuck under the extractor star with the long extractors.

I just prefer the full length extractors on my model 10 & 64.

Thanks for any info. I can't find any LGS with them in stock to look at them.

Thanks,
Dan

My 2-3/4" M66-8 has .938" of lift*.

From my understanding all the L frame revolvers have short extractors too, like the gp100.

My 5" M686-6 has .964" of lift*.

.

My 5" M627-5 has .948" of lift.

*- Lift measured from the top of the fully raised extractor to the face of the cylinder.

Thank you BLUEDOT37.

I kind of expected that. So S&W must mean same as full size 4" models when they say full length extractor. So I think I can assume both the M19 and M66 4" versions have short extractors also.

Now the big question for me is if the new M10 has a true full length extractor like the old models?

Thank you.
