Full Lug

I love full lugs. Here are a pair of 17-6s with a 586-7.

Just picked up a 686-6 PP NIB this morning and will post pictures after the weekend is over and I can change the grips out for something better to shoot with like the Pachmyr's I have that will fit the gun. I bought the gun for a shooter and to make a safe queen of my Dan Wesson 357 that is 99% still.

Lobo, That 29-4 5", Isn't that actually a 29-5?
The elongated bolt notches are supposed to have started with the 29-5 along with the interior bolt block.
I have a 6" just like yours. I was told that they were a run done up for Jonas? Bro. of N. or S. Carolina. I'm not sure of the name, maybe it's Jonah. Also not sure of which state, I can't remember what the guy at S&W told me, when I called to ask the year my gun was made. [1991]
Man, I sure love a 5". I had one of the blue classics in 5", but like a fool traded it off, and regretted it ever since.

Its a 29-4 made for Hill Country Distributors. There were 500 made in 1989.

Its one of my favorites no doubt. The 5" barrel makes the gun feel perfect in the hand.

Who cut your lug for you? Did you do it yourself?
I want a 686 6 inch without the lug!!!
Yes, it only took a couple of hours with a hacksaw, files, emory cloth, and a dremel tool. Sorry for being so late with a reply, I guess I don't get notices anymore from this site?
